Ten Thousand Mile Sandals
is a company that specializes in distinctive hand-made footwear. Their
original name Maasai sandals came from the Maasai people in East Africa.
They are nomadic pastoralists and are known for their love of animals, color
and also resourcefulness.
The
leather of our sandals comes from the Maasai cows and the beads are also
called the Maasai beads, hence the name Maasai sandals.
The
bottom of the sandals are made from recycled Tire and rubber and that’s why
are now called the Ten Thousand Mile Sandals.
They are also very comfortable, not to mention durable.
10%
of our total proceeds go back to helping the villages in the area that our
materials come from. We also support a local school and are now in the
process of raising funds to help them build more permanent classrooms.
